It’s a metaphor for the dynamic, mobile life of locums and the coordination efforts of practice managers. From clinical rounds to scheduling and shift planning, Ronda reflects the shared pace and structure of the veterinary profession. At its core, Ronda symbolises connection, continuity, and community. These are the values that guide our mission to support both locums and practices.

When I can start applying for placements?

As soon as you complete the verification process, which includes an identity check, RCVS registration, and proof of right to work, you’ll be able to apply for shifts.

Can I manage multiple practices with one log-in detail?

Yes, you can add as many practices as needed in the Users & Practices section.

Does Ronda belong to a corporate group?

No, Ronda is an independent, self-funded project. It was created by veterinary professionals who understand the real needs of both locums and practices.

How can I find suitable shifts quickly?

You can use filters to search by location, hourly rate, day or night shifts, and weekday or weekend availability.

You can also use the map feature to narrow your search to practices within your local area.

Can I assign other users to specific practices?

Yes, you can add as many users as required and assign them to specific practices by selecting the relevant practice and adding the user from there.

Who can use Ronda?

Ronda is designed for UK-based veterinary professionals, including vets and RVNs, as well as independent practices and corporate practices looking to hire locums.

How can I optimise my placement planning?

The map view helps you find and apply for shifts that are close to each other. This makes it easier to plan efficient and cost-effective working weeks.

How are locums verified?

Every locum on Ronda is verified before they can apply for shifts. Our team checks: RCVS registration Proof of ID Right to work in the UK (for non-UK nationals) This ensures you’re only matched with qualified, trustworthy professionals.

Is Ronda a recruitment agency?

No. Ronda is a platform, not a recruitment agency. We provide the tools for locums and practices to connect, communicate, negotiate, and build long-term working relationships without middlemen.

How can I build my reputation and achieve better working conditions?

The two-way review system allows both practices and locums to rate each other after each placement. Consistently positive reviews help you stand out and increase your chances of receiving more offers, better shift conditions, and repeat bookings.

Are recruiters allowed to use the platform?

No, recruiters are not allowed to use the platform. The platform is designed to give control to practices and locums to work their way, without the need for a third party.

Can I partially apply for placements?

Yes. You can select specific dates within a shift block and apply only for those that fit your schedule.

Is there a cost for posting a shift?

No, posting shifts is completely free and there are no subscription fees. You’ll only be charged when a booking is completed. A fee per shift applies for each locum successfully completed through Ronda, based on the monthly volume.

Can I amend a placement after it’s posted?

Yes. In the Calendar section, select the shift you want to update and click ‘Amend Placement.‘ You’ll be able to change all the relevant input fields.

What makes the Ronda platform different?

We understand the concerns many practices and locums face. There’s always a risk of practices paying high fees without receiving real value, or of locums arriving at a practices where they aren’t treated fairly.

That’s why we built Ronda with one goal in mind: to foster trust and transparency between locums and practices. Our two way review system promotes accountability on both sides, helping build long-term relationships and a supportive, professional community.

How will I know if my application or negotiation has been accepted?

You’ll receive a notification in the Notifications section of the platform. Click on it to view all the details. You will also receive an email notification.

Can I search for available locums?

There’s no need to manually search. Once your shift is posted, it’s automatically suggested to relevant locums based on the placement’s details. Locums apply directly through the platform, saving you time and effort.

What are the criteria of the two-way review system?

Both practices and locums can review each other using a 1–5 star system based on key professional criteria. Practices can rate locums based on: Clinical ability Communication and professionalism Punctuality and reliability Team fit and adaptability Locums can rate practices based on: Organisation and preparation Team support and atmosphere Facilities and equipment Fairness of workload This helps ensure transparency, accountability, and a better experience for everyone on the platform.

How can I keep track of my shifts?

You can view and manage all your confirmed placements using the calendar available on the platform.

How will I know if I receive an application or negotiation?

You’ll receive a notification by email and in the platform’s “Notifications” section when a locum applies or sends a negotiation. Simply click the notification in the platform to view the details and respond.

When can practices and locums rate each other?

Both the practice and the locum can rate each other within 6 weeks after the placement ends. Reviews become visible as soon as both parties have submitted them or automatically after the 6-weeks window. This ensures a fair and transparent experience for everyone involved.

Do I need to pay to use the platform?

No. The platform is completely free for locums. There are no registration fees or hidden charges.

Is there a tool to help me choose the best match quickly?

Yes! Our comparison tool lets you view multiple applicants side by side. Click “View and Compare Applicants” to compare experience and skills easily.

Does the platform facilitate negotiations?

Yes, there is a built-in negotiation tool that allows you to communicate directly with the practice to discuss and agree on shift details.

How do I get paid?

After your placement is completed, you send your invoice directly to the practice via email. Payment is handled outside of the platform.

Can I save favourite locums or build a preferred list?

While the app doesn’t currently include a “favourites” or preferred list feature, you’ll always be able to view the profile and initials of each applicant when they apply for your shifts.

How secure is my data on Ronda?

Your privacy and data security are extremely important to us. Ronda is built using industry standard encryption and data protection protocols to keep your information safe. Only the minimum necessary details are shared with other users, and only once a placement is confirmed. We do not store any payment information on the platform and do not expect you to enter any. To ensure the highest level of security, identity checks for locums are handled and securely stored by Veriff, a trusted third-party provider specialising in identity verification.

What happens if the practice doesn’t pay me on time?

If your payment is delayed, we recommend contacting the practice directly first. If the issue isn’t resolved, please let us know. We take fairness seriously, and if a practice fails to meet its payment obligations, we may restrict their account. To avoid misunderstandings, always check the practice’s stated payment terms before accepting a placement.

When do I see the locum’s name?

You’ll see the locum’s name as soon as a placement is confirmed. At that point, the in-platform chat also opens to make direct communication easier.

Can I leave feedback about the platform?

What payment methods can I use for working through the platform?

Practices may offer different payment options, including PAYE, limited company, self-employed, or umbrella company arrangements. Each placement will indicate which payment methods are accepted. Make sure to check this information before applying to ensure it aligns with your preferred setup.

How do I communicate with a locum?

Negotiation takes place directly on the platform. Once both sides agree and a match is made, an in-platform chat opens so you can communicate easily.

What happens if I need to cancel a placement?

If you cancel more than 48 hours before the shift, there are no charges. If you cancel within 48 hours, you will still be charged the daily placement fee for up to 14 days. If you cancel shifts after the locum has started, the full block of booked shifts will be charged.

Is there a mobile app or only a desktop version?

Yes, Ronda is available both on desktop and as a mobile app. We recommend downloading the mobile app so you can stay on top of opportunities, messages, and updates wherever you are.

Can I see the payment terms of a practice before applying?

Yes, practices include their payment terms in the placement details. Make sure to review them before accepting a shift so expectations are clear.

How is the locum paid?

The locum is paid directly by your practice, not through Ronda. After shift completion, they’ll send their invoice to you using the contact details provided in the platform.

What happens if a practice cancels my shift?

If a practice cancels a confirmed shift, you will be notified immediately. We monitor cancellation patterns, and repeat cancellations may affect a practice’s visibility and reputation on the platform.

How do I pay Ronda?

Ronda will invoice you at the beginning of each month, listing all shifts successfully booked in the previous month. You can view and download your invoice in Settings > Billing. According to our payment terms, you have 14 days to settle the invoice.

What happens if I forget my password?

You can reset your password by clicking ‘Forgot password?’

Can I deactivate or delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your profile anytime directly in your account settings, it only takes a moment. If you’re happy to share, we’d love to know what made you decide not to use Ronda, as your feedback really helps us improve. But of course, that’s entirely optional. Your data will be handled in accordance with GDPR.
